Full of hope and promise in his heart, Jake Thurman moved to New York City, but all he found were problems and unresolved issues.
Instead of dream-fulfillment, Jake is lost and questioning his motives.
During his battles with relationships and self-doubt, he reflects on the memory and advice of his late friend and mentor, Lakota. And just when things cannot seem to get any worse, his childhood friend Roy Carpenter appears at his doorstep, bringing with him memories and past regrets Jake had long since suppressed.
With his parents deceased, the only family member Jake has left is his younger sister Anna, who has asked him to return home to Georgia, to help with her newly self-made dilemma. Jake agrees, however; Roy tags along for the ride.
Together, the two of them barrel down the East coast in an unregistered, uninsured, 1970 Chevy Nova with stolen license plates, causing general mayhem and corruption along the way.
